In [[005_20260619 Session 5|Session 5]], the gang learned: - He joined a movement led by the [[Mordenkainen|Mad Mage]] that culminated in the [[Battle at the Gates]]. - When the [[Battle at the Gates|Battle]] was lost, his body was not recovered because he had been turned. - He was great friends with [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]], as they are the same age. - Since his turning, he has been living in the undercroft of [[Barovia (Village)#Church of St. Bogdan (E5)|St. Bogdan's]], where his father makes a proprietary blood sausage to keep him alive but weak. In [[010_20260801 Session 10|Session 10]], Doru responded to Irina and showed moments of recognition and comprehension, suggesting that something of his former self remains.
