# [[Irina Kolyanovich]] ![[Irina Kolyanovich-1782498770639.webp|right|280x329]]Irina is a human(?) woman, and the adopted daughter of the Burgomaester of [[Barovia (Village)|the village of Barovia]]. Unlike her brother, Irina appears very athletic and enjoys nature, camping, and hunting. She is adopted and appears to have high-elf blood, which contributes to her beauty and magnetic aura. She is very warm, friendly, and curious to know more beyond what her overprotective family has allowed her to experience. ### In [[003_20260520 Session 3|Session 3]], - the gang met her brother, [[Ismark Kolyanovich|Ismark]], who clearly adores her. They were invited to (plan) her 20th birthday party. ### In [[005_20260619 Session 5|Session 5]], - [[Father Dargos Donavich|Father Donavich]] spilled the beans that she is not a Kolyanovich by birth, but was found in the woods. - She was best friends with [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]] before he turned. - She is a cheerful girl, seemingly untouched by the malaise around her. People call her "the light of [[Barovia (the Land of)|Barovia]]." ### In [[006_20260626 Session 6|Session 6]], ![[yakko-and-wakko.gif|right|250]] - [[Kolyan Kolyanovich|Kolyan]] disclosed that she has not been herself since [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]] disappeared. - [[Zar]] (and possibly [[Erno Van Iche|Erno]]?) thinks she's prettttyyyyyy <3 - She is very outdoorsy and seeks adventure. She seems to resent being stuck at home under the wing of her overprotective [[Kolyan Kolyanovich|father]] and [[Ismark Kolyanovich|brother]]. ### In Session 8, The Gang learned that members of the Barovian nobility believe Irina is intended to become Strahd's **next bride**: ![[008_20260717 Session 8#^wedding]] ### In Session 9, - the Gang found Irina, completing the quest: [[Find and keep Irina safe]]. ### In Session 11, the gang learned: - Irina barely knew [[Sister Olivenka Alastroi|Sister Olivenka]], though she remembered the Alastrois as a respectable family who died of a mysterious illness. - Irina only began attending church after [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]] became an altar boy. - [Muriel](Muriel) appeared to recognize Irina when the two locked eyes, though the reason remains unknown. ### In Session 12, - Irina proved willing to participate directly in dangerous expeditions and combat. - After nearly dying in the Marshes, she was badly shaken but continued traveling with the Gang. ### In Session 13, - Irina can apparently see unusually well in darkness. - She moves extremely naturally through the forest, including climbing trees and hunting at night. - Her abilities caused the DM to describe her as **"definitely not human"** and a **"creature of the forest."** - While disguised, Irina chose the alias **Natalia**. - Madam Eva revealed that Irina has a significant history across previous lifetimes, possibly extending to before the Mists fell over Barovia. - In one of those lives, she was someone important, possibly **a princess**. - Madam Eva drew **the Raven** in connection with Irina. - The **Black Feather** know more about Irina's origins, destiny, role, and place in Barovia. - Madam Eva advised Irina to remain close to her newfound friends, whom she believed genuinely had Irina's best interests at heart. To conceal her identity among the [[Vistani]] at Tser Pool, [[Andraste Amo|Andi]] disguised her and Irina adopted the name **Natalia**. During a private conversation with [[Madam Eva]], [[Andraste Amo|Andi]] asked for advice about revealing information that might overturn everything Irina believes about her identity. [[Madam Eva]] replied that people become strong enough to face such truths **by hearing them**, rather than beforehand. Madam Eva then revealed considerably more: - She could see something in Irina's **very distant past**, from another lifetime and perhaps from before the Mists fell over Barovia. - In one of those previous lives, Irina had been someone important—possibly **a princess**. - Madam Eva drew **the Raven** in connection with her. - The people of the **Black Feather** know more about Irina's origins, destination, role, and place in Barovia. - Madam Eva warned Irina to be careful whom she trusts and to remain close to her new friends, whom Eva said genuinely have her best interests at heart. At the end of the session, [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]] remained at [[Tser Pool]] with Andi while [[Zar]] and [[Erno Van Iche|Erno]] departed for Castle Ravenloft. Still disguised as Natalia, she and Andi were assigned to help search for [[Arabelle]].
