He appears to genuinely care for the village and is deeply saddened by his forced participation in capitulating to [[Strahd von Zarovich|Strahd]]'s [[Strahd von Zarovich#Blood Sacrifices|blood sacrifice]] demands, however complacently he complies. However, in Session 6, after hearing [[Strahd von Zarovich|Strahd]]'s demand to take Irina, combined with the news of [[005_20260619 Session 5#Back in the Chapel Again|Zar's effect on the congregation at St. Bogdan's]] and the plans to convert the church into a stronghold, [[Kolyan Kolyanovich|Kolyan]] may have found renewed strength to push back against Strahd's demands.
