# [[Patthana]] or the [[Patthana|Vistani Language]] Patthana, or “the secret, the tongue,” is the language of the [[Vistani]]. ### Balok A local. ### Banxo A half-Vistani. They are a multiracial society who accept many into their culture, but many choose not to undergo the initiation rites to enter a *[[Patthana#tashq|tashq]]*. However, as they haven't been ostracized the way _skurra_ have, and they do have Vistani blood, they are afforded some inroads into Vistani society. Some people who have no Vistani ancestry might be ceremoniously "adopted" as "friend to the Vistani", granting the protection and access that pure outsiders lack. _Banxos_ form the connective tissue between Vistani and Balok communities, being the main dealers, business associates and go-betweens. ### Skurra An outcast, someone who has been exiled from his native tashq an is considered a pariah. Also, camp followers who are not [[Vistani]] but attach themselves to the caravan. They perform menial tasks and entertainment in exchange for being accepted back into a *[[#tashq]]*. In [[002_20260513 Session 2|Session 2]], [[Stanimir]] claimed that Madam Eva's family were considered *skurra*. ### Tashq plural *Tashuq* A tribe or clan of [[Vistani]] related by common rite and myth. Each of them has a specific occupation or specialty for which they are known. A caravan or encampment will include auxiliaries and craftsmen from different *tashuq*. ### Vardo A house-wagon. A true mobile residence with lots of storage space for merchandise and every necessity of life that can be deployed to camp. ### Xorxa An outsider, a stranger, a non-[[Vistani]].
