# [[Patthana]] or the [[Patthana|Vistani Language]] Patthana, or “the secret, the tongue,” is the language of the [[Vistani]]. ### Balok A local. ### Banxo A half-[[Vistani]]. They are a multiracial society who accept many into their culture, but many choose not to undergo the initiation rites to enter a *[[Patthana#tashq|tashq]]*. However, as they haven't been ostracized the way _skurra_ have, and they do have [[Vistani]] blood, they are afforded some inroads into [[Vistani]] society. Some people who have no Vistani ancestry might be ceremoniously "adopted" as "friend to the [[Vistani]]", granting the protection and access that pure outsiders lack. _Banxos_ form the connective tissue between [[Vistani]] and Balok communities, being the main dealers, business associates and go-betweens. ### Skurra An outcast, someone who has been exiled from his native tashq an is considered a pariah. Also, camp followers who are not [[Vistani]] but attach themselves to the caravan. They perform menial tasks and entertainment in exchange for being accepted back into a *[[#tashq]]*. In [[002_20260513 Session 2|Session 2]], [[Stanimir]] claimed that Madam Eva's family were considered *skurra*. ### Tashq plural *Tashuq* A tribe or clan of [[Vistani]] related by common rite and myth. Each of them has a specific occupation or specialty for which they are known. A caravan or encampment will include auxiliaries and craftsmen from different *tashuq*. ### Vardo A house-wagon. A true mobile residence with lots of storage space for merchandise and every necessity of life that can be deployed to camp. ### Xorxa An outsider, a stranger, a non-[[Vistani]].
