# Quest: [[Find Gertruda]] ## Status As of [[016_20260918 Session 16|Session 16]], Gertruda was found alive in [[Morganta, the Dream Pastry Lady|Morganta]]’s carriage and is now with [[Andraste Amo|Andi]] and [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]]. The huge twist is that [[Mad Mary]] was apparently planning to sell Gertruda to Morganta. Gertruda begged not to be taken back to Mary. ![[Find Gertruda-1791347014222.webp|299]] ## Log Gertruda is a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for several days. She left her home around the 4th of Dekavyr, 713, to purchase dream pastries. According to her mother, she was to return shortly. [[Mad Mary]] asked the Gang to recover her. ![[Find Gertruda-1784257099800.webp|right|200]]Gertruda left behind a deformed doll, which was made by a local toymaker named [[Blinski]]. The fact that Gertruda always had this doll was confirmed by Thorne Drust and Bildrath in Session 7. In [[006_20260626 Session 6|Session 6]], the Gang saw that the door to Gertruda's room had been forced open from the inside, possibly indicating her exceptional (supernatural?) strength or desperation to escape. In [[007_20260711 Session 7|Session 7]], Thorne Drust revealed that Gertruda may have suffered the same fate as another young boy, Lucien, who was turned into [[Dream Pastries]]. In [[013_20260821 Session 13|Session 13]], Andi asked [[Madam Eva]] how to save the missing children. Eva's Tarokka reading revealed: - Gertruda is **alive and well**. - She is **not at [[The Mill]]**. - She is in the same place as **[[Arabelle]]**, Arrigal's missing daughter. - They are near a **great body of water**, identified as [[Lake Zarovich]]. - They are with a **decrepit mortal man** whose soul has been corrupted by the darkness he has endured in Barovia and who is willing to sacrifice others to accomplish his goals. ### In [[014_20260904 Session 14|Session 14]], [[Arrigal]] revealed that the Vistani were checking several possibilities concerning Arabelle's disappearance, which may also be relevant to Gertruda because the two girls are believed to be together. Possible leads include: - fishermen near [[Lake Zarovich]] who reportedly **sacrifice people to water spirits**; - [[Dream Pastries]]; - and the possibility that Arabelle's disappearance is connected to a betrayal within Arrigal's family. Arrigal gave [[Andraste Amo|Andi]] and [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]], disguised as **Natalia**, one of his hunting hounds to assist with the search. The [[Captive Harpy|captive harpy]] also claimed that she may have seen something relevant while traveling along the Old Svalich Road near Lake Zarovich, but has not yet revealed exactly what she saw. The Gang negotiated for the Harpy to accompany the search as an aerial scout under an ether-steel restraint. ### Objective Find Gertruda and Arabelle near [[Lake Zarovich]], determine who is responsible for their disappearance, and bring them to safety.
