# Quest: [[Save Doru]] ## Current Status [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]] escaped St. Bogdan’s Church during the siege and is now missing. He fled **west**, and Strahd’s forces were sent after him. The Gang is continuing its search for the Philosopher's Stone as a possible cure while Doru’s whereabouts remain unknown. See Also: Quest [[Investigate Khazan's Tower]] #### Potential Conflict: This stone may be the same one required to [[Retrieve a stolen gem for Stafania Martikova]] ## Background After participating in the Mad Mage's Rebellion, [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]], the son of [[Father Dargos Donavich|Father Donavich]], has become a vampire spawn living in his father's church basement. Despite initial misgivings, they agreed to help [[Father Dargos Donavich|Father Donavich]] find a cure. ## Log According to local legends, a [[Khazan#Philosopher's Stone|philosopher's stone]], capable of curing even vampirism, may exist in [[Barovia (the Land of)|Barovia]]. In [[010_20260801 Session 10|Session 10]], [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]] was reunited with [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]]. Doru showed signs that he still recognized Irina, reinforcing the Gang’s hope that he might still be saved. Later, when [[Strahd von Zarovich|Strahd]]’s forces demanded him, [[Doryan (Doru) Donavich|Doru]] fled the church and escaped into the woods west of the village. ![[Save Doru-1790965568399.webp|right|300]] In [[016_20260918 Session 16|Session 16]], Doru was found alive, but was much further along in his transformation into a vampire spawn. Though struggling to remain lucid, he was open to [[Irina Kolyanovich|Irina]], who told him that they would find a way to reverse what happened to him.
