People have reported unusual zombie activity, activity in the woods, etc. But in [[007_20260711 Session 7#Morganta, Dream Pastry Lady Morganta's Collections|Session 7]], the Gang, while seeking information about Alric, learned that Strahd was making arrangements for "what happens next after the mists are lifted." To learn more about this, [[Morganta, Dream Pastry Lady|Morganta]] recommended that the Gang head to the [[Amber Temple]] in [[Tsolenka Pass]]. ### In [[009_20260724 Session 9|Session 9]] The Gang discovered that the Durst cult had attempted to sacrifice [[The Durst Family#Walter Durst|Walter Durst]] in an attempt to resurrect the family's founders. According to the surviving cultists, the ritual was only one part of a much larger plan. They believed [[Strahd von Zarovich|Strahd]] was nearing the fulfillment of his purpose and that [[Barovia (the Land of)|Barovia]] itself would soon change. ### In [[010_20260801 Session 10|Session 10]] [[Talbot, the Halfling Head]] expressed concern that an unusual number of outsiders had recently managed to cross the mists into [[Barovia (the Land of)|Barovia]]. Besides the Gang, he mentioned both [[Mordenkainen|the Mad Mage]] and [[Rictavio Van Richten|Van Richten]], remarking that such events were unprecedented and a sign that chaotic times were approaching. The Gang also witnessed the first signs of those changes firsthand. As they escaped [[Durst Manor]], they observed **dozens of zombies** surrounding [[Barovia (Village)|the village of Barovia]] while the surviving cultists spoke openly of [[Strahd von Zarovich|Strahd]]'s imminent reunion with his lost love and the lifting of the mists.
